Yes, after you hurt yourself so bad you are more aware of the danger from those kind of plants. I had it in Theotihuacan, but from a cactus and richt through my jeans. I had to pull very hard to take them out, they had those hooks on the point where they hook up in your skin, it was pretty painfull and the risk on an infection is also pretty risky. It hurted for a week and heeled in 3 weeks. So I'm not gonna hit a cactus anymore. I have now two Agaves in my place, I took two with me out of Mexico, two of the Agave Azul and they are very sharp to.
Yes , they are very cool, but they grow to the space they have. The two agaves I have are in a small pot (like 20cm high and 15 diameter) and they doesn't become that big, I guess it has something to do with the ground they have available.
