An agave plant.

I've once accidentally pinched my leg with one of those points. It's so sharp I didn't notice how deep it had been until later, when I found blood in my jeans.

To be honest, I guess it's worth hurting yourself when you can achieve such a great picture, I know it myself. :D

and... well it was like two years before I shot this pic that I pinched my leg with one of those needles lol (obviously, in a different place than this). I was very aware of my surroundings this time :)

Yes, after you hurt yourself so bad you are more aware of the danger from those kind of plants. I had it in Theotihuacan, but from a cactus and richt through my jeans. I had to pull very hard to take them out, they had those hooks on the point where they hook up in your skin, it was pretty painfull and the risk on an infection is also pretty risky. It hurted for a week and heeled in 3 weeks. So I'm not gonna hit a cactus anymore.
I have now two Agaves in my place, I took two with me out of Mexico, two of the Agave Azul and they are very sharp to. :P

That's pretty cool, having Agave plants with you. They'll grow pretty big!

Yes :D, they are very cool, but they grow to the space they have. The two agaves I have are in a small pot (like 20cm high and 15 diameter) and they doesn't become that big, I guess it has something to do with the ground they have available.
